…to be one with the world………….man and his bicycle……….

This morning Boucle and I headed out to a waterfront park.  The paths and rocks sit high above Lake Ontario, giving one a great sense of the immense lake, the wind blowing, the sound of the waves.  Its just you and the world……….

….end of summer weekend…….summer gardening………..

What a gorgeous perfect summer day it was yesterday.  Sunny, warm with just a nip in the air, and a bit breezy.

Boucle and I spent the day happily outside gardening and trying to catch pictures of the rare airshow jet zipping by.  I had planned to plant some plants and move others in June, but it had been so warm all summer long, that I kept postponing and postponing.

The poor euonymus has been sitting in a pot, waiting for me all summer.  Finally he is in his new home.  And some plants were moved.  And I dug up some giant poppies.  I know….how could I dig up poppies.  But they were taking over the entire back garden area, and smothering their fellow plants.  So I dug them up, including sifting through the soil over and over, trying to find every last tuber. Otherwise they will return.  I am hoping that I got them all.

What a perfect summer day we had……….

….yummy freshness………..

… crisp and crunchy apples…..

…sweet peppers and freshly dug carrots………

sweet and juicy peaches……

The harvest has just begun…….wonderful fruits like apples, and fresh vegetables like freshly dug carrots, are arriving,  to make delicious homemade foods .  I saw beautiful cauliflower heads in the store the other day.   Plump, white and yummy looking.  My favorite cooking time of year is fall, when I make big batches of  comfort foods to warm the insides…….

Used a SB600 Nikon Flash and umbrella for these shots.
