_JAS4790-2WEB-Sun-at-the-Lake

A new day,
a new Year……
A path to follow……
A forest to see through……….
All to reach …
the beauty of a beautiful lake……….

May your New Year be all you hope it will be, even when your path meanders, and the forest becomes thicker than expected, may you reach your place of beauty in 2013.

To all my friends……..xoxo
Best Jane and Boucle

…lady….turn of the century…………..

_JAS5274-2WEB-Jane-in-turn-of-century-set-up

This was my Boxing Day playing.  Set up to look like turn of the century, with pattern upon pattern layered and deep rich colors.

This was taken in my soft colored livingroom, with things brought in from around the house.  The rug is from the entrance, the flowers from the bedroom.  The chair is a diningroom chair and the background is fabric that I clipped to my livingroom drapes.

The hat is a faux sable mink winter hat, jacket is a Max Mara business jacket, shoes are summer shoes of lacey leather, which I thought worked well with the jacket colors and the look of the era.  Leather gloves. The skirt is a very old skirt that I made 15 years ago.  I originally put a piece of luggage in the frame but it became too busy.

Lighting did not work out as well as my previous set up.  I am not sure why.  I moved it around, went from one to two umbrellas, and still was not completely satisfied. Perhaps it was so much burgundy surrounding me.  This one had to be processed, whereas the previous was very little processing.

I am thinking of doing the 70s next.

…lady in a black tulle hat………

Made my first ever crockpot stew yesterday. Received the crockpot from my Mom last year, so it was fitting to give it a go before Christmas this year.  A bit too watery, but incredibly good.

Yesterday afternoon was my time for play, so I put together this set up for a photo session.  One umbrella, one SB800 flash, camera right.  Black background.  This is processed only a little, as the lighting turned out quite well.

The set up: Hat, is the same hat from another shoot.  However, I placed some black tulle loosely around it to give it a completely new look.  The feathers, is a fascinator, i.e. headband with feathers, that I put around it.  The necklace is a Myriam Haskell necklace, (love her gorgeous pearl work).  The gloves are from a Halloween shop for $6.  The dress –  is really a camisole, with a Betsey Johnson scarf placed over it, to look like a dress.

….wave upon wave………

Yesterday there was very little wind, yet there were big beautiful swells on Lake Ontario. The boulders are huge, the swells were huge.  And that one wave, greeted us unexpectedly at our feet.

Needless to say, Boucle and I backed up even more because you could just get knocked off your feet and swept away, the swells were so deep.

…beautiful Lake Ontario…….

This is available as a fine art print.

…mouthwatering, sweet, juicy clementines………

December is all about clementines.  These I found at the grocery store yesterday.

The peels are soft and loose, and when you sink your fingers in for the first peel, it squirts delightful citrus.

Sweet, juicy and gorgeously delicious!
