Every fall I need to replant red tulips in the front garden, as there is too much shade there for them to ripen properly and flower a second year.  So the once bloomed red tulip bulbs of the front I dig up and replant into the back garden, where they come up fine.

But a funny thing happens between the front and the back garden.  After two seasons, the back garden tulips slowly turn pink.  These tulips started out red in the front, and have been blooming pink in the back garden for a couple of years.
